Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof mascara: review

Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof mascara
Here's the worst product I've bought for years. I was looking for a mascara to use on holiday by the lake, to splash water with my boys freely not worrying about make-up. I knew I should bet something I trust, Make Up For Ever Aqua Waterproof but it seemed too expensive for just 2 weeks of use so I went drugstore shopping.

This is the first Rimmel mascara I've ever bought. I didn't consult any reviews, just went to Rossman and picked the first waterproof mascara I spotted.
So what I got is this bulky neon orange tube which reveals an immense brush, no kidding, I suppose it's equal in diameter to my index finger. I love mascaras with big brushes but there are limits. It's just impossible to manipulate! After a couple of minutes of struggle my upper lid was done and then I attempted to coat my lower lashes holding the brush in a vertical position. Finally, done. I can't imagine doing this on holiday when you want just a quick and effortless make-up. I don't really want to spend half of my day doing my lashes.

But the brush is not all. When it comes to mascaras two things count: the brush and the formula. In this case both are equally disappointing. This mascara takes ages to dry leaves marks on my upper and lower lids alike during and after the strenuous application. And it's not my clumsiness. I use a lot of mascaras with large brushes, like Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp recently and this never happens. And these black dots made of waterproof mascara aren't that easy to remove without leaving ruining your make-up with oil-based removers.

Verdict: cheap but not worth any penny I spent on it.
