La Prairie Advanced Marine Biology Revitalizing Emulsion review

La Prairie Advanced Marine Biology Revitalizing Emulsion

When you deal with a product which retails for $180 for a 50ml bottle (source: La Prairie website) you expect god knows what and you suffer severe disappointment when nothing happens.

Advanced Marine Biology Revitalizing Emulsion is a universal moisturiser for face, neck and eye area. It may be used day and night and it promises hydration and nourishment while providing anti-oxidant protection.

I like the idea if using the same cream all over as it's simple and effective. However, for somebody with oily skin a universal product does not exist. Whatever provides enough moisture for the eye area is always too heavy for the skin all over. Since this exactly is the case with this La Prairie emusion I resolved to use this under my eyes only, where the results would be seen most quickly.

The product is called an emulsion but in fact it's a rather thick light green substance with a sort of plant fragrance which applies smoothly on the skin. This emulsion displays a balm-like consisency and finish and thus, provided enough moisture for my eye area. I applied this cream night and morning aaaand..... nothing happened. My eye area remained as wrinkled as before, more even, it seemed dry when I woke up in the morning. There was nothing about this emulsion that would induce me to get it. I like my Clinique Laserwear, Korres Wild Rose and Skinfood Watery Berry eye creams a million times more.

Disclaimer: I received this product as a complimentary sample for my personal use and I'm not affiliated with any company. I am not paid to do this review and everything I said here is my personal opinion.
